If you are looking for a truly wild adventure avoiding paved roads and crowds as you cycle through the hidden gems of Cambodia, this is the tour for you. Balancing exquisite accommodation with riding and exploration into the undeveloped parts of Cambodia, all within relatively easy reach of Siem Reap. This cycling adventure tour near the Angkor temples is one of contrast and discovery.
First ride the jungle trails around the main Angkor Temples, to see the iconic ones and then some of the hidden temples away from the tourists. After learning about these amazing structures and the civilization that built them, we move into the Kulen Ranges where challenging riding takes us deep into the protected forest zones, past waterfalls and stone carvings in this incredibly spiritual location. A night of camping in the forest follows, then onto the animal conservation center at Kbal Spean. On the final day, we head out onto the largest lake in Southeast Asia to kayak the bird sanctuary Preak Tuol, a successful bird protection area which we support as part of the tour.
On this trip, all your needs are thought of before they even occur to you. The camping is relatively comfortable and very well managed, and the overall experience is a seamless one so you can enjoy your six-day cycling holiday without worrying about any of the details.
154 Km riding. This ride is all about the single track. While we do spend some time on hard packed dirt roads and access trails, the focus is on riding through forest and jungle on trails that were most often created by walkers or by other riders. There are challenging sections where we have to climb for a number of kilometres at a time at a gentle gradient and other times where we have a very steep gradient for a short period.
Please note: For tours commencing from Dec 23 to Jan 3 and 14-15 Feb there is a peak season surcharge of 15% on the price of this tour due to hotel rate increases at this time of year.
