Tour Itinerary

for Bike Bohol

Arrive in Tagbilaran

Today people will be arriving throughout the day. We'll meet in the evening to get to know one another over dinner, and have an introductory briefing to the tour. Meals: D

Cycle to Pangangan

60km cycling

This morning we’ll fit the bikes and then begin our journey through the varied landscapes of tropical Bohol. Today’s route takes us from Tagbilaran inland to Corella, home to the Tarsier Visitors Centre, where we’ll get a chance to see these weird and wonderful endangered cuddly critters in their native habitat.

From Corella we’ll bear west back to the coast and then north to Calape and our lovely oceanside overnight stop at Pangangan. Meals: BLD

Cycle the Chocolate Hills

70km cycling

Today we head east into the interior, and Bohol’s most famous sight, the Chocolate Hills. We’ll ride through the heart of these otherworldly limestone hills, staying nearby at a resort with a pool. Meals: BLD

Cycle to Anda

50km cycling

Today’s ride is a beautiful descent from the central highlands down past some of the island’s most impressive rice terraces on our way to the gorgeous white sand beaches at Anda. Meals: BLD

Cycle to Badiang

55km cycling

We head west from Anda, following the coastal road all the way to Badiang, where cold spring water is ready to revive you. Meals: BLD

Cycle to Loboc

35km cycling

Today a short uphill ride brings us to Loboc, which sits on Bohol’s longest river, and is also locally famous for its musical history. In the afternoon we’ll take a boat trip along the milky green river, flanked by towering palms and mountains beyond. Meals: BLD

Cycle to Alona Beach, Panglao Island

45km cycling

Our final day’s ride takes us via some of the island’s oldest Spanish churches to idyllic Panglao Island, fringed by dazzling white sand beaches, turquoise sea and coral reef. Meals: BLD

Tour ends

Today the tour ends after breakfast. Panglao is just a thirty minute drive from Tagbilaran, from where there are flights to Manila, and boats to Cebu. If you want to stay a little longer on Panglao, beach extensions at our tour hotel can be arranged. Meal: B

What's the Riding Like?

Mostly flat terrain

5 days riding

300km distance

We mostly cycle on quiet, paved roads (with the odd pothole), although there are a few short stretches on busier main roads and bumpy tracks.

Coolest time: Nov-Feb

Wettest time: Jun-Oct

Our favourite: Mar -May

The 7000+ islands of the Philippines mean that the country has endless micro-climates. Although Bohol has a vague “dry season” during the summer, this is also the hottest and least comfortable time to ride. In reality Bohol receives rainfall around the year, but November to February is the best time to cycle as temperatures tend to be a little cooler. This said, to see the Chocolate Hills burnished brown, a summer visit is recommended!
