Half day sunset tour in Siem Reap, Cambodia
Bike the Angkor temples and country roads of Siem Reap at its most beautiful time of day, in the afternoon leading up to sunset. This cycle tour allows you to experience a different side of Siem Reap and Angkor, finishing up with a sunset dragon boat ride, local treats and refreshments.
This bike tour runs from Siem Reap.
At the end of each day the city of Siem Reap starts to power down in intensity, as workers prepare to head home and visitors await evening events and dinner.
Before sunset is an ideal time to tour by bike and witness the residents in transition and the sites of the countryside and Angkor Park unburdened by crowds of tourists. The heat of the day gives way quickly to a nearly surreal feeling of calm in the city, the countryside and on the pathways in and around the Angkor complex.
The evening concludes with a private Dragon Boat cruise on an ancient waterway, whilst enjoying local delicacies and refreshments on board, the perfect way to end your sunset tour.
Angkor at Twilight promises a glimpse of city life blended with the flavour and scenery of the countryside adjacent to the temples and finishes in the fading light of sunset in the Angkor Park.
Please note: Siem Reap sunset tours will not operate April 14th, 15th, 16th & 17th due to Khmer New Year celebrations. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Circling around the perimeter of Angkor we will enter Angkor Thom through the south gate and past the highlight - the faces of the Bayon temple - bathed in the soft sunset light, as we soak up the atmosphere of this alternative route through the ancient wonder that is Angkor.
Quality, well maintained imported GT mountain bikes with full hydraulic disc brakes a helmet and reusable sports water bottle are provided.

Our afternoon sunset tour starts at the Grasshopper shop at 2:15 pm, where we'll have a briefing of the trip ahead and get fitted on the bikes.
We ride past the King’s Siem Reap residence and through the Royal Gardens. In the large trees, you can see hundreds of giant fruit bats before their evening flight into the Angkor forests.
Continuing up the Siem Reap River we ride past private homes and small riverside markets. The juxtaposition of rich and poor can at times be dramatic. Crossing the river we wind our way along red clay roads and small dirt trails, through a series of local villages, crossing small farms and passing school children on their way home. We make our way towards the west edge of the Angkor Park.
After a brief stop to refuel on cold water and fresh fruit we’ll continue our ride. We bypass the crush of visitors exiting the Park and instead follow single track lanes, past stunning rice fields and small, historic family parcels where life appears unchanged for generations.
As the temples close to visitors we will access Park roads and trails to view this remarkable historic site in a different context, twilight, and poise ourselves for a glimpse of sunset as the day comes to a close.
To complete the evening we take a peaceful Dragon Boat ride on the moat of Angkor Thom, with local delicacies including soft drink and champagne on-board.
At the end of our boat ride an air-conditioned van is waiting to transport us back to the Grasshopper shop in Siem Reap to arrive around 6:30pm, with plenty of time after your sunset tour to enjoy dinner and evening activities back in town.
What's the Riding Like?
Small roads & tracks
The sunset tour is predominately on flat tracks and small roads - there are no hills in the area so anyone who can reasonably ride a bike can do this tour. There are a few sections of narrow single track through dense vegetation. Long pants and long sleeves would be advisable. Closed toed shoes are also recommended. The pace is easy and relaxed making for an enjoyable ride.

What our guests tell us...
Just a selection of our great reviews!
Guide took us to see lovely quiet spots, cycled along the moats and saw ruins where there were no other visitors. When we visited Angkor Thom, we basked in the perfect late afternoon sunlight, there were very few other visitors which was a real luxury. So lucky.
This was a fantastic way to see several temples with expert commentary! Both guides were knowledgeable and friendly. The bikes were high quality and riding through the jungle has an adventurous feel about it, dodging branches and soft sand and narrow tracks. Great value!
A super professional company that was a great experience on every level. Quick communication when booking, great tour guide that was really informative and an amazing bike ride through back roads that you'd otherwise never get to experience in a car or tuk tuk. One of the highlights of the trip and would 100% recommend this to anyone visiting Siem Reap.
Highly recommend this tour, it was well organised, great scenery away from the tourists and our guide Phath (Pat) was fantastic! The tour was the highlight of our short trip to Siem Reap.
we cycled along to the top of the wall - it was so peaceful only hearing birds and seeing butterflies along the way as well as a ruined temple it was very atmospheric … We then went the Angkor Thom moat to enjoy the sunset on a dragon boat, snacks and prosecco, it was magical … a wonderful way to start our visit to the temples of Angkor
Very professional outfit, Bikes are excellent
