One of the highlights of Thailand is its varied and flavorful cuisine. Fuel up for your ride with some tasty street food, or sample local specialties at a countryside market. The array of diverse spices will surely get you out of your comfort zone and delight all of your senses. Sample traditional Pad Thai, or try some other-worldly looking fruits from a local market. Taste locally-grown Thai coffee, try your hand at a Thai cooking class, then devour papaya salad, red curry, and mango sticky rice on a food tour of Chiang Mai. Are you hungry yet?
Interactions with the smiling Thai people will color your memories long after the ride is over. Have an entire conversation in hand gestures, or share a smile that pierces cultural barriers. Our tours will bring you beyond the bicycle to where these kinds of learning experiences happen! Learn a few words of Thai to help you connect with the friendly locals, and visit small businesses to learn more from Thai people about their experiences. Plenty of cultural activities and stops along your cycling journey will make sure that you leave Thailand with a greater appreciation for the Thai way of life.
You will be accompanied by an experienced Grasshopper Tour Guide who knows all the hidden gems of your destination and is excited to share Thai history and culture with you as you pedal. Your guide will be extremely safety-conscious and sensitive to your needs so you can explore with ease.
Woody ensured we ate in local restaurants with excellent hygiene and western toilets! The route took us to WW2 places such as the River Kwai Bridge, Hellfire Pass and war cemeteries. A very moving and once in a lifetime experience. Although we were not seasoned cyclists by any stretch of the imagination...We cannot recommend them enough.
