Tour Itinerary
Start Time: 7:30 am – End Time: 5 pm
The tour will depart at 7:30 am. We will board our private, air-conditioned van for the 80km ride to the Delta. Don't forget, bring your camera, sunscreen and comfortable clothing for biking.
Cycling Farm to Table Lunch, Local Ferry Boats
On arrival in the Mekong Delta, the bikes will be set up as you enjoy Vietnamese coffee or tea at a small village cafe. When the bikes are ready, we are off riding through the idyllic countryside on paved rural roads, past countless rice paddies, vegetable farms and orchards full of locally grown fruit you may not be familiar with.
The Mekong is Vietnam's most abundant agricultural region and it's also home to local artisans and weavers. We'll park our bikes at a small shop to see traditional woven mats and visit a nearby cocoa plantation. The chocolate in this region is world-renowned (in fact you can read about it in this interesting 2016 New York Times Style Magazine article). This will be some fascinating cultural immersion!
As we pedal further south along concrete canal paths, the vegetation grows denser and the streams start to look more like the larger tributaries of the Mekong. We will visit a busy marketplace without the crowds of tourists, as well as many other surprise stops along the route.
Lunch will be served in a private home outside the village, with foods sourced from the nearby fresh food marketplace. Devour the authentic flavors of Vietnamese cuisine as you enjoy this local experience.
The day concludes with a private boat transfer along one of the region's beautiful waterways.
Today’s ride is mostly on flat concrete paths and paved rural roads, with a few sections on loose gravel and sand that can be walked if needed. There are 6 sightseeing stops along the route, making for manageable chunks of cycling that anyone who is comfortable riding a bike for 20 minutes straight can enjoy.

Canal Paths
The Delta area is famous for its flat, safe, concrete canal paths that take you deep into the region past welcoming and friendly locals. The route also features paved rural roads with lots of room for safe cycling. Take in the views from your saddle as you pedal this relaxing route.
Nice Wheels
Quality, well maintained GT mountain bikes with hydraulic disc brakes, water bottle and international standard helmet are provided. These are very capable bikes that are a pleasure to ride and able to carry you in comfort throughout the tour.
Your Guide
An experienced English speaking, local leader will host you on this trip who is well spoken, very well informed, and charming. Our leaders are often cited as being the main highlight of the tour. We use local guides who have a passion for their country and are always well informed on topics ranging from history, politics, cuisine and importantly local customs and cultures. Our leaders will take pride in introducing you to every aspect of their country while keeping an eye out for your safety and comfort at all times.
Support Van
An air-conditioned backup support vehicle is always available for tired riders and to carry your luggage. In the Mekong Delta, we are on narrow bike and pedestrian style paths and trails where the support vehicle cannot follow. It will, however, meet us at intervals of 10km or so and can meet us at closer intervals if there is an urgent need.
Great Eats
A delicious local lunch is included. Snacks, fruit and clean water are also provided throughout the tour.

This tour is guaranteed for a minimum of 2 travelers and we limit the group size to only 10 travelers so that you get all the attention you want in an intimate group.

I really enjoyed Mekong Delta tour. Grasshopper Adventures were wonderful from the minute I booked thru the completion of the Tour. Our driver Khanh and guide Phat, took us on a lovely 24km bike tour through small villages, markets and farms in the Mekong Delta area. Nice bikes. Phat gave us great information, with stops in various locations for interactions with locales at their workplaces with a nice rest midway through the ride for hydrating and snacks. Boated on the Mekong and had a delicious lunch at the end of the ride. Great day. Got some good exercise and had a meaningful experience of countryside living in Vietnam. Would do it again.

We did the cycling tour through the MekongDelta and all I can say is that was the most amazing excursion I’ve ever experienced. We did a 22km cycling tour throughout the rice fields and beyond palm trees. The entire day was surreal, with super local touch. The TL Dat made the whole experience extra special - he’s the best, I couldn't expect more of a whole experience.
