India Photography Tour
Photo tour in India | 14 days Mumbai to Delhi | US$3,500
Ancient cities and forts - camel safari - historic hotels - Taj Mahal
India is an intoxicating feast for the senses and her dazzling colors, sensuous (and sometimes unsavory) smells, symphony of sounds and tantalizing tastes don’t just gently creep up on you, they bombard you. India is vibrantly alive and offers a surprise with every step and a shattered presumption at every corner. The princely state of Rajasthan is the epitome of this and we spends the bulk of our time here to soak up the plethora of photographic possibilities, from towering forts to bustling markets, intricate temples to Maharajah’s mansions, and sand dunes to lake palaces. Add some vibrant Mumbai magic, the most beautiful of buildings, the Taj Mahal and the expert photographic instruction offered by Ewen Bell and you have the perfect masala mix!
With time spent in lessons and learning techniques, lots of time 'in the field' practising and review sessions to look over your work you might just become one of the lucky souls who can earn a living from pressing a shutter.
Ewen was recently voted by the Australian Society of Travel Writers as the 2007 Travel Photographer of the Year, deserved recognition for the depth and quality of the work that Ewen delivers to the travel industry in countless brochures, website and print media articles.

Itinerary
Days 1-2 | Mumbai
On the first evening we’ll get to know one another over dinner and have a basic introduction to the tour. The following day we’ll head out onto the vibrant streets to see a different side of Mumbai.
Days 3-4 | Udaipur
On day 3 we fly to the fabled city of Udaipur. As well as the marble palaces and whitewashed haveli the city is justly famous for, Udaipur has a wonderfully labyrinthine old city, and the surrounding hills offer pastoral scenes and views aplenty.
Day 5 | Narlai
Today we visit the intricately carved Jain temples at Ranakpur, serenely set at the foot of forested hills, en-route to the holy village of Narlai nestled amidst giant granite boulders.
Days 6-8 | Jodhpur
On day 6 we reach the ‘Blue City’, which represents yet another of Rajasthan’s palette of colours. Dominated by its massive fort, Jodhpur is as fascinating up close as it is from afar and we take the time to wander the streets and spice markets.
Day 9 | Khimsar
Today we head out into the Thar desert where we spend the night in comfortable mud huts nestled between the dunes.
Day 10 | Pushkar
Set around a sacred lake, Pushkar is one of India’s holiest towns and is as serene and relaxed as North India gets, and there are hilltop temples and local markets aplenty to explore and photograph.
Days 11-12 | Agra
For a mindblowing finale to the tour we make the long drive to Agra, home to one of the most exquisite buildings in the world, the Taj Mahal. The following morning a sunrise trip to the Taj starts the day with a smile.
Days 13-14 | Delhi
We transfer to New Delhi, India’s capital and in the evening we celebrate our adventurous journey with a final meal. The ends after breakfast on day 14.

Feedback and Reviews
“India was an amazing experience and definately the best trip I have ever done."
- Eve, February 2008
"My third trip with Ewen and Jason from Grasshopper Travels and definitely not my last! Rajasthan is an amazing and confronting region and this trip was packed full of highlights from the Thar Desert to the bustling towns. With Ewen's guidance I was able to photograph the wonderfully friendly people of the region and, along with his forays down busy streets, temples and markets, I brought home the best travel photos I have even taken. Once again the trip was flawlessly planned and smoothly delivered. We stayed in former palaces, tried out local restaurants and rode camels across the desert. Jason even organised a cricket match with the eager people of Mandawa. I can't recommend these two professionals highly enough - for photographers or just those who like to travel to somewhere different. Thanks guys for yet another wonderful adventure."
