Luang Prabang is a small UNESCO world heritage town with a unique culture. This tour will get you out and experiencing the Jewel of Laos, the former royal capital of the Lane Xang Kingdom. Here you can still breathe in its tranquility and capture the spirit of the old Laos. Luang Prabang is best explored by foot, bicycle or boat in order to appreciate the beauty and serenity of the town. Travelling around by bicycle and taking a local cooking school course will enable you to be far more involved in your surroundings than most tourists.
Itinerary
Day 1
On arrival at Luang Prabang Airport you will be met by your Grasshopper Guide and taken to the Lotus Villa Luang Prabang, a beautiful boutique hotel in the heart of the Old Quarter. In the evening enjoy your first delicious meal at a nearby restaurant.
Day 2
After an early breakfast we walk to the cooking school where we’ll learn classic Lao Cooking from one of Luang Prabang’s most popular restaurants. It starts with a visit to the local fresh market, followed by the actual cooking class. You will cook your own lunch and take an early dinner in the classes. After the cooking class, you can exercise off all that food with a 2 hour gentle cycle ride around Luang Prabang, visiting some of the temples that make the town special.
Day 3
After breakfast we will take you to the Angsana Spa for a 3 hour ultimate body pampering session. You will enjoy your choice of massage, a body polish and a facial for a head-to-toe treat that will soothe your senses. After lunch at a restaurant with a great Mekong view, you have the afternoon to relax. Around 4.30pm, we will take you on a 2 hour cruise on the Mekong river to view the sunset and life along the riverbanks.
Day 4
After breakfast and checkout, we will provide a transfer back to the airport.
