Bangkok Countryside - Day Ride tour in Thailand

Bangkok Countryside

Day Ride tour in Thailand | 1 days in Bangkok | US$46
Travel by bicycle to an incredible, peaceful region close to the heart of Bangkok

You really won't believe that such scenery exists so close to the heart of bustling Bangkok! On this day ride you will ride through jungle farm land, alongside canals and visit ancient temples overgrown and twisted by the roots of trees. Really, you won't believe it is so close to Bangkok!

This day ride is designed for those looking for a day out of the congestion of Bangkok. Winding our way out through the suburbs we soon reach the countryside where tall buildings are replaced by small wooden houses, roads become narrow concrete paths or dirt tracks and the crowds of people are replaced by lush vegetation and trees. Many of the locals get around on small paddle boats that they use to access their fruit gardens. It really is like stepping back in time. We can't tell you exactly where you're going - it's our little secret that we will let you in on when you join us for a ride.

Itinerary
Meet at the Grasshopper Adventures Shop near Khao San Rd at 9am. After a quick bike fitting and briefing we head out cycling. It takes a few kilometres to be free of the city but on the way you'll ride through tiny alleyways with dense housing - more like cycling through people's living rooms. Once in the countryside there are few cars but many surprised locals. Lunch is included at a delicious local eatery. There is great variety in the terrain we cover as we jump from communities living along the canals to market gardens to lush farmland to ancient ruined temples all within sight of Bangkok's skyscrapers.

The ride is a total of 35km and the tour takes approximately 6 hours, usually finishing at around 4pm but this is variable by group.
