Unique - our middle name...
Having worked in tourism for a long time we know there are plenty of companies out there that run the same trips with such regularity that they have lost their true connection with the destination. Then there are the other companies that just grab an established tour company brochure and replicate what already exists. That's not us. We carefully craft every tour we offer, making sure that we are not compromising on our goal of getting you out into a country to truely experience everything that makes it tick - the good the bad and the smelly.
Positive Impact - travel with a conscience...
An integral part of travelling is to have a positive impact on the country that you are visiting. On all our trips there are small things that you can do to have a positive impact: from learning a bit of local language to having a blind massage to eating in a restaurant that trains street kids in the hospitality industry. Your tour leader will inform you of any projects that we come across that can be supported while we travel.
Experience - young company, old hands...
Grasshopper is made up of a small group of people with countless years working in Asia. We recruit people who have "been there, done that" with the larger companies and want the chance to take their customers to out of the way places that they love. These places don't appeal to majority of people and that's why we take on tour managers who have a desire to move on from their big company backgrounds.
Our Prices - quality, not bargain basement...
An important part of the Grasshopper philosophy is to charge reasonable prices for quality trips. As a web based company we don't have the huge overhead costs of large tour companies. We charge reasonable prices but provide great bikes, good quality accommodation and unbeatable value for money. All group organisers will receive one free place (land cost only) if their group has at least 10 paying customers.

Service - personal, timely, passionate...
As a small company, Grasshopper Adventures can offer a level of service far beyond anything possible by the big travel companies. By the time you arrive on your trip we will know you quite well because chances are you've been dealing directly with your tour leader. All your inquiries are handled by our crew in the field, not office bound sales people, so you know any information provided is not only factual but also the most up-to-date available.
Guides - where are we...
On all of our longer trips you will accompanied by a Grasshopper Adventures tour leader, selected not just for their ability to ride a bike or trek, but also for their love, passion, and experience in the countries in which we operate. During the cycling and trekking components of all trips a local guide (and a driver of our support vehicle for cycling trips) will join the group. They will not only help us through the adventure but are also sure to provide some entertainment as well. Local guides will also be used for local sight seeing so that you can experience and learn from local experts. All this ensures that you will be well looked after during the trip. We do, however, consider it important that we are not 'baby-siting' you while you travel with us so that you have opportunities to experience Asia on your own terms.
On our short trips a local guide will escort you on your journey. These guides are specialists in their area - you can't get any better!

Groups - why be lonely...
Grasshopper Adventures run trips for groups of just about any size from two people up to any reasonable number. On all our joining trips there will be others joining from all over the world - surely one of the great parts of travelling with a group. Our travellers have so far ranged in age from 11 to 75 years old.
Food - a joy of life...
The food in Asia is always one of the most memorable parts of any trip. On the majority of our trips most meals are included with plenty of free time to explore the culinary delights of the country to suit your own tastes. In the back blocks the meals are simple and hearty while in the bigger town we enjoy wonderful of the local specialities. You'll not have to worry about going hungry.

Accommodation - home sweet home...
One thing you can be sure of while travelling with Grasshopper Adventures is that the accommodation used will be varied. Generally we use everything from comfortable hotels with all the mod-cons to small guesthouses or lodges which maybe light on amenities but full of character or history, each day of cycling will bring you to a new home away from home. Private groups can choose the level of accommodation to suit their needs and budget but you must remember that in some of the out of the way places the level of accommodation can be quite low. Often it's all part of the adventure. We don't avoid a great, out of the way destination just because there isn't a three star hotel available.
On none of our tours do we charge a single supplement for those travelling alone. We will match you up with another same sex, single traveller to share a room with. In the event that you do wish to have a room to yourself, on some of our tours we have a voluntary single supplement available at an extra cost. That way no-one else has to put up with your snoring!
